ANGELO N. MAKRIS, MD
Dr. Angelo N. Makris graduated magna cum laude in 1986 from Case Western Reserve University with a Bachelor’s degree in chemistry. In 1990, he earned his medical degree from UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (formerly Rutgers Medical School) in New Jersey. He completed several years of a general surgery residency at Dartmouth Medical Center before completing his residency in diagnostic radiology at Pennsylvania Hospital in 1996. Thereafter, he completed a fellowship in vascular and interventional radiology at Rush Medical Center in Chicago, IL. Dr. Makris is board certified in diagnostic radiology as well as vascular and interventional radiology. After fellowship, Dr. Makris joined the staff at Rush University Medical Center and taught as an assistant professor of radiology at Rush Medical College. During that time, he was appointed as both the residency director of diagnostic radiology and the fellowship director of vascular and interventional radiology. He has authored multiple articles relating to vascular and interventional radiology that have been published in many prominent medical journals. In addition, Dr. Makris also ran a course for the Radiologic Society of North America, teaching the techniques of ultrasound guidance to other radiologists. Dr. Makris then joined Midwest Heart Specialists, where he worked in a clinical practice as a peripheral vascular specialist. Among his accomplishments, he has been an investigator on multiple industry sponsored trials related to peripheral vascular disease. In addition, he is a proctor teaching other physicians endovascular techniques related to carotid artery stenting, abdominal aortic aneurysms and venous ablation. Dr. Makris continues to be thought leader on the forefront of endovascular techniques and is an active member of the Society of Interventional Radiology.
JONATHAN A. LEVINE, MD
Dr. Levine received an MD from Rush Medical College in Chicago, Illinois. He subsequently completed a medical internship at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago and a radiology residency at Yale New Haven Hospital (where he served as the radiology chief resident), in New Haven, Connecticut. He returned to Chicago to complete an interventional radiology fellowship at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center. He is board certified in radiology with a certificate of advanced qualification in interventional radiology. Dr. Levine has served as a staff radiologist at the Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park, Illinois, and as assistant professor of radiology, Section of Interventional Radiology at Rush University Medical Center. The author of numerous articles, scientific exhibits and presentations, Dr. Levine is the founder of a technology development company focused on medical devices and also provides consulting services in this field.
SAUMIL M. SHAH, MD
Dr. Shah graduated cum laude from the University of Michigan and earned his MD from the University of Toledo College of Medicine. He then completed his internship at MacNeal Hospital and residency at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, followed by a fellowship in vascular and interventional radiology (VIR) at Beaumont Health Systems in Royal Oak, MI. Dr. Shah is board certified in diagnostic radiology and vascular and interventional radiology, and is an active member in the Society for Interventional Radiology (SIR). Dr. Shah is on staff at Rush Oak Park Hospital and West Suburban Hospital. He served Gottlieb Memorial Hospital and Advocate Trinity before joining Chicago Vascular Center. Dr. Shah has presented research in multiple areas of interventional radiology including minimally invasive techniques. His expertise includes amputation prevention and limb salvage procedures for peripheral arterial disease (PAD), varicose vein management and treatment, hemodialysis interventions, UFE, liver tumor/metastasis therapies, and pain management with a focus on providing compassionate, meticulous, and advanced care for patients.

OUR PHYSICIAN EXTENDERS

Lisa Gray, PA-C, ATC
Lisa Gray earned a bachelor of science degree from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, followed by a masters of medical sciences in physician assistant studies at the College of Health Sciences at Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois. Lisa is a licensed physician assistant and athletic trainer for the State of Illinois; physician assistant certified by the National Commission on Certification of the Physician Assistants and a certified athletic trainer by the National Athletic Training Association Board of Certification. She is also ACLS (American Heart Association) certified. At Makris MD Vascular Specialists, Lisa assists in several procedures including fistulograms, angioplasty, and central line removal/exchanges for dialysis patients. She also assists in the evaluation, management, and treatment of varicose veins and venous insufficiency procedures.
Angellie Falana, FNP-BC
Angellie earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from North Park University and her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Olivet Nazarene University. With over 20 years as a Registered Nurse and 6 years as a Family Board Nurse Practitioner, Angellie has developed a broad and comprehensive expertise in patient care and medical practice. Currently serving as a Nurse Practitioner at Chicago Access/MakrisMD, Angellie is responsible for conducting pre-operative evaluations, obtaining informed consents, and managing a diverse patient population in the clinic. Beyond her clinical responsibilities, Angellie enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, exploring Chicago's vibrant summer festivals, and traveling to new destinations.
Nora Theresa Ilad, APRN
